From complex onboarding to constantly changing regulations — Greenflash uses edyoucated to train employees quickly, securely and in a personalized way.
Founded in 2020, Greenflash GmbH develops innovative, intelligent and decentralized energy systems for industrial and commercial customers. The aim is to reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions in order to achieve maximum efficiency in line with increasing sustainability. Greenflash takes a holistic approach and, as a full-service provider, develops tailor-made solutions for its customers. The core of intelligent energy systems is the self-learning, AI-based software Greencore AI, which enables energy supply and control to be implemented in unprecedented levels of detail. There are currently around 100 employees working at the four locations in Germany in Lingen, Essen, Munich and Hamburg. They are helping to make Greenflash customers more independent of external electricity price fluctuations and, together with them, to move towards a CO2-neutral industry.
The pace of growth exacerbated existing L&D problems. New employees should be up and running quickly, but onboarding was fragmented and based on individual training lists. At the same time, new regulatory requirements were constantly rolling in in the energy sector, which had to be reflected in training and certification. Until now, there has been neither a skill taxonomy nor a transparent overview of which skills are decisive for which role. Recommended trainings were assigned manually and learners had to find their way between soft skill offerings, regulatory updates, and general onboarding steps themselves. A modern, integrated solution for e-learning, seminar administration and skill matching was therefore business-critical: Greenflash wanted to ensure that teams responded quickly to changes, minimize compliance risks and at the same time strengthen their own employer experience.
Greenflash completely replaced the existing LMS with edyoucated and thus laid the foundation for a skill-based learning ecosystem. In a joint workshop, the company's core values were translated into measurable skills and expanded to include function-specific skills. Each skill was given a five-stage proficiency scale, which employees can use to assess their level of maturity themselves. These self-assessments were incorporated into personalized skill profiles, which are automatically linked to the appropriate learning content. edyoucated used AI-based mapping logics to connect seminars, internal learning paths and external content partners to form a consistent catalog. This gives every role — from installation professionals to project managers to sales consultants — a target profile with clear priorities. The L&D team also curated learning paths that combine mandatory regulatory training, soft skill requirements, and general corporate knowledge. Hundreds of face-to-face and online events are now managed directly via the platform, including registration workflows and waiting lists. Employees benefit from relevant recommendations because their skill gaps, career goals and legal requirements are automatically taken into account.
With edyoucated, Greenflash has comprehensive skill transparency for the first time. Managers can see which skills are available in the team and can sharpen their skills in a targeted manner. Learners receive structured paths instead of to-do lists and complete content measurably faster. L&D consistently aligns its portfolio with strategic corporate goals — whether strategy implementation, new market segments or safety standards — and delivers training to the organization much faster. This reduces regulatory risks and at the same time strengthens the employer brand because development opportunities are clearly visible.
The high usage rates show that personalized recommendations are effective: Each person sees the learning resources that are relevant to their role, the current project or new regulations first. Thanks to central event management, the L&D team saves organizational effort and can provide reliable reports on progress, compliance status and skill gaps at the same time.
