Nowadays, corporate lawyers are expected to provide more than just legal knowledge.
The topics of technology and digitization in particular are becoming increasingly important in order to be able to solve legal tasks in companies cost-effectively and with high quality. By building up relevant competencies in the areas of legal tech, digital technologies or in agile methods, in-house lawyers can bring additional added value and modern solutions to clients with their knowledge. Important: the daily work routine of lawyers varies both in terms of time and location. In addition, the previous knowledge of the various lawyers varies greatly. A targeted and effective training program must therefore be highly individualized and location-independent.
After identifying the training needs, the Axiom team began working with edyoucated as a pilot initiative. Learning objectives were added to the edyoucated learning platform and the first group of lawyers were enrolled in the pilot program. After completing the self-assessment via edyoucated, each individual learner automatically received a personalized digital learning path that was tailored to their exact prior knowledge and learning needs. Supported by edyoucated mentors, experts that could be contacted via chat or video calls, learners were able to complete the program independently. The program was rounded out with other activities, such as discussions and practice-based assignments. This way, participating lawyers have access to an advanced, highly personalized and flexible learning program at any time.
"We want to encourage our employees to engage in lifelong learning and provide them with the right learning tools to do so. However, we could not have imagined how well this form of online learning would be received by our lawyers when we launched the project last year."
